Every medical worker (including nurses, doctors, specialists) has a legal obligation to report suspicion of neglect (e.g. physical violence/injuries, malnutrition, failure to seek medical help). Everyone in a case of child neglect that results in the child's death has a different view of the sequence of events.

If you think the parents are not getting good enough medical treatment for their children, you can apply to have the gardianship shifted to someone else or have guardianship shifted to you (the doctor) or shifted to the guardianship board. Who wins? The person who is deemed by the legal system to have the child's best interests at heart.
